On Thursday, September 10th my husband Raymond became severely ill with symptoms that resembled a stroke. After visiting one ER, they felt there was nothing significantly wrong and sent him home. Knowing that something really wasn't right we went to a second hospital that same day for a second opinion. Raymond was admitted to the ICU due to his condition while doctors have been trying to determine what is wrong.
Raymond sleeps most of the time but due to complications of his condition which is still unknown, he needs a tracheotomy to help him breathe. He has a long road to recover and prayers are definitely needed.
My husband and I have a young son together, Eli. I was between jobs, currently looking for employment when my husband fell ill. Being the good man that he is, he was the sole provider for our family.
I spend every second with my husband that the ICU will allow hoping that my presence brings him comfort. I cannot imagine my life without him and want to be there with him every minute they allow. Eli misses his father and I am trying to shelter him from what is going on as much as I can by providing him with his normal routine. Before this, Eli was in daycare 3 days a week and now he needs to be there full time so I can be by his father's side. Daycare is the best place for our son to be because it is part of his routine already and I want my son to feel secure at this time. It is a 20 mile roundtrip from his daycare to the hospital.
I don't know how I am going to pay our bills not being employed and still offer our son stability with his normal routine. I want to be there for my husband and need to be there for my son when visiting hours are over. I don't know how I am going to make ends meet while being there for my family. I don't like asking, but I need help. Help for Raymond, myself, and most importantly my son. Any help is appreciated more than you know and if you cannot help, prayers are needed the most. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
