Donate to help my dad beat cancer!
Donation protected
All donations go directly to my dad’s cancer treatment and to anything that may help his day to day quality of life such as hiring someone to shovel the walkway, meals, travel costs to and from treatment etc. He has looked after his family his entire life and now it is his turn to get help.
If you live on the North side of Edmonton, chances are you have run into my dad. He cannot contain his corny dad jokes and does what he can to help out those in need. He has the kindest heart and is an amazing dad and grand dad. He may have even done your taxes, gave you a ride, bought you a drink, or shovelled your walkway at some point.
He has stage 4 prostate cancer. This is the most advanced stage of cancer. His last doctors appointment revealed that it has now spread to his neck. While he is currently a patient of the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton he is in the late stages of cancer and needs access to an alternative immunotherapy treatment he wants but cannot afford.
Right now he is undergoing hormone treatment. The next step will likely be chemotherapy. He is self-employed and this first step is already making him exhausted and difficult to work as much as he used to.
He wants to pursue immunotherapy within Canada but this option is extremely costly and is something he does not have coverage for. At the moment he is hoping to get his immunotherapy treatment at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto but is open to any suggestions other cancer survivors can suggest.
All money will go directly to his treatment as well as any basic related travel costs like gas, a hotel, and food to get to a treatment centre within Canada.
Please help him get access to this treatment he cannot afford. He has family and friends who all love him very much and are asking for anyone’s help so that he can have a better chance at beating his cancer.
He has spent so many years of his life caring for others and deserves access to a much better chance of beating his cancer.
He loves his family, friends, and community and needs many more years to get to know his grandson who is still so young.
Because he has stage 4 cancer it is vital that we get this help for him as quickly as possible. Please help us give him the gift of more time by donating today.
If you cannot donate money, please share this with as many people as you can to help him get the care he desperately needs.
Thank you so much. We are so grateful for any help we can get for him and I will make sure to post any updates of his health and journey along the way to keep everyone updated.
