Hi y’all! It’s Rachel Rane (Glencoe, IL) and Lanie Nitsch (McAllen, TX). We recently qualified to represent the United States in the Women’s 8+ at the U23 World Rowing Championships which are being held in Varese, Italy from July 25-30. This is the premier event of the year for under-23 rowers in the world. The championships usually attracts 2000 rowers from around the world, with 23 boat classes competing.

Unfortunately, the costs of rowing for the US national team are high - between training costs, plane tickets, lodging, and the national team fees, the total expenses for the two of us are expected to be well over $15,000 .

This will be our first time racing at the international level and cannot wait to wear the red, white, and blue, but we need your help!
