Hello, my story is no different than any of yours. Life always got in the way of my dream. For the past ten years I have been struggling to start and finance the Lando Solo Fund and Sanctuary. Every time I thought it would come to completion something happened and it always fell apart. Now with nothing left to lose I have decided to fundraise it on my own with fellow black cat lovers help.

It may seem crazy but I have decided to walk from Tucson Az where I am currently located to Roswell Nm. I found a purrfect plot of land outside of Roswell and have a solid plan on how I would like to set up and run the sanctuary. The only obstacle is the constant lack of funding and lack of interest from non cat lovers.

My beloved Land Solo who inspired the entire concept recently passed away. In his memory I am undertaking the journey to see my dream become a reality. I will document my journey and invite you all to follow along on my social media accounts.

The amount seems impossible but every journey starts with a single step, I will put one foot in front of the other until the journey is complete. Many people doubt I can complete it, many people have tried to talk me out of it, I have faith that with persistence and dedication I can achieve the impossible.

I won’t be traveling alone my pug and cats will be joining me and we will take each and every day as it comes and just keep moving forward. Now for the reason behind my journey, every year black cats are the number one type of cat killed in shelters. More black cats are put down in October than any other month.

My dream is to create a sanctuary and trust fund to stop the senseless slaughter. A place where cats like Lando can live in peace and comfort. I have a plan that will make the sanctuary not only self sufficient but also a place for humans as well.
