Funeral Fund for Lance Arbogast
Lance Allan Arbogast was my father.
He was the biggest, strongest guy I had ever known.
A Navy Veteran, 8th Degree Black Belt in Judo, Satellite Jockey, loving husband, and the kindest dad.
He never went to college; Instead enlisting and then making his way up the ladder working at the Naval Satellite Operations Center here at Point Mugu as a civil servant. When my mother lost her job this year he worked even harder than he ever had to make sure we wouldn't have to sacrifice. But, truth be told, he was never good with money anyway. He was too generous to us.
Despite the hardships he worked late nights through the pain of two replaced knees, herniated discs, and even a broken foot. But he always loved his job and would talk endlessly about it. I was so proud of him.
These night shifts he worked meant he spent many of his days asleep, only arriving home late at night or early in the morning. This sometimes was difficult, as my father had Sleep Apnea and required a breathing machine in order to sleep safely.
On Monday morning, sometime around 2am, he came home and dozed off without his machine. He stopped breathing sometime later, and none of us knew until we couldn't wake him up in the morning. Lance passed away barely two weeks from his birthday (Father's Day). He would have been 55.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, his two sons aged 25 and 19, and his 10 year old daughter.
My father was so generous to us all, and now I would like to be as generous to my wonderful Mom by helping her to pay for some of these large costs, so she can stop worrying about bills and the cost of things coming. Your help is so so so appreciated and I thank you all for any amount you would like to give. If you knew my Dad, please feel free to share a memory with him.
Hug your Mom and Dad and make sure they know you love them. You never know when it's the last time you'll ever see them again.
With love,
Matthew Arbogast
