Kia's Breast Cancer Recovery Fund

Story

As some of you know, last year around this time, I had my first battle with Breast Cancer(DCIS Stage 1) and I survived. Unfortunately, its back. On March 11, 2014 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer(DCIS) for the second time, but in the opposite breast. According to research, this shouldnt have happen so soon(9 months from last chemo treatment). Due to me having the BRCA2 gene and being Triple Negative(my hormones are not the cause) my risk for breast cancer the third time is extremely high. With this being said, I have no choice but to have a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, which is scheduled on May 7th, which is the 1st part. I will be having 2 more surgeries within the next 6 months to complete the reconstruction. This is not an easy surgery nor easy to digest, but it has to be done if I want to be a survivor, AGAIN. Being a single parent, I still have a life to maintain and a daughter to continue to raise. That is why Im fighting to be a SURVIVOR! Having this surgery will have me off work for several weeks to recover. With your support, prayers and donations, I know that my recovery will be a success! If I have learned nothing else during this process, I have learned that I am strong and will continue to come out on top! Thanks to everyone for your continued love and support!
