Le Petit Elephant Nursery and Preschool is the most special and loving place for babies and children in Napa Valley. We always strive to provide an incredibly enriching, supportive, and safe environment for all of the infants and preschoolers in our care, and we are proud to offer our hard-working teachers wonderful benefits and living wages.
Recently, due to the Covid19 pandemic, over the last 6 months LPE has been confronted with unsustainable costs associated with:
* increased cleaning schedules, including sanitizing the playground and equipment between groups
* increased cost and quantity of non-toxic, child-safe disinfectants
* keeping our staff supplied with PPE/latex gloves. We use 10,000 gloves per month on average now .
* additional staffing to meet sanitizing needs
* Covid-related Health checks at drop off and throughout the day by a dedicated staff member
We are a small, family owned business and we lack the corporate "deep-pockets" to absorb these additional Covid-19 related costs to pull us through this without help from our community. The cost of latex gloves has increased four fold due to the pandemic, and the non-toxic/green disinfectant (PureGreen24) we use on the children’s toys and surfaces is becoming cost-prohibitive. We have exhausted all PPP funds, and there is currently no grant money available for us from Napa County, or the State/Federal government. We do not want to increase our tuition rates due to this temporary increase in expenses but we do need some help. Therefore, we are humbly asking for help from our community so that we may purchase PPE/disinfectants over the next 6 months and continue to provide high-quality childcare in a safe environment for Napa’s littlest residents.
We need to raise at least $10,000 per month from November 2020 through April 2021. That is about $166/month per child enrolled at LPE currently. Please donate what you can, when you can.
