Hello all,
As many of you may know, Hurricane Melissa has caused extensive damage across Jamaica, leaving many families without access to water, electricity, and food. Some families have even lost their homes.
Coming from a Jamaican family and having spent so much of my childhood and adulthood enjoying this country, this really hits close to home for me and I feel compelled to help, but I will need some assistance.
I am personally organizing a donation effort and will be donating myself to ensure the items reach those in need. I will be using the funds to purchase essential items for families in need, including:
- Food: Continuous supply of non-perishable food.
- Clean Water: Bottled water and portable purification systems.
- Medical Supplies: First aid kits, medications, and hygiene products.
- Rebuilding Materials:
Plyboard, Zinc, and Tarps for repairs.
- Solar-Powered Items: Fans and lights for areas without power.
- Tools for Rebuilding:
Hammers, nails, saws, shovels, and drills.
There will be many GoFundMe's and fundraisers circulating, and you are welcome to contribute to whichever you feel comfortable with — the most important thing is simply that you help. However, please be mindful and ensure that any organization or fundraiser you donate to is trustworthy.
If you are not comfortable giving a monetary donation, please reach out — you’re more than welcome to give items instead. I decided to organize this donation personally so I can ensure that the items collected are directly delivered to those in need. While we may not be able to reach everyone affected, if we can assist even 20 families, that would truly be a blessing.
If you’re not able to donate, simply sharing this effort would also be a huge help.

Thank you all in advance for your support!
XOXO,
Diandra
