LAKESIDE HIGH CAST & CREW NEED YOUR HELP!

CONGRATULATIONS LAKESIDE DRAMA ASSOCIATION!  2021 WINNERS OF THE GEORGIA THEATRE CONFERENCE RAY HORNE COMPETITION!

Lakesiders took home THREE prestigious awards for their performance of Scott McPherson’s “Marvin’s Room.” Now the talented student cast and crew have been invited to perform at the 72nd Southeastern Theatre  Conference (SETC) regional competition in Memphis, TN next March 2022!

But they cannot do it without your support!  SETC registration fees, transportation and lodging, and production expenses total over $16,000 to make it happen, more than $600 per student. This is cost-prohibitive for these kids, who already paid significant fees to compete at the qualifying GTC competition in Vidalia, GA last month.

The Lakeside Drama Association , a 501c3 non-profit, is seeking your help to finance this incredible opportunity.   During the giving season, please consider a tax-deductible donation to support these kids.  Please share this fundraiser with family, friends, community partners, small businesses, and on your social media!

CONGRATULATIONS 2021 GTC RAY HORNE GEORGIA STATE 1st PLACE WINNERS & BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS AWARD RECIPIENTS!

Marvin's Room
has the honor and privilege of representing the State of Georgia among the 5,000 professional adult and student members of SETC!   Much more than a competition, our cast and crew will join students from 10 other states at the convention.  They can attend acting and technical workshops, audition in-person for college scholarships, and meet casting directors and talent scouts!

As you know, arts in education struggles for funding and relies heavily on private, tax-deductible donations to offer theater education, movement and voice lessons, performance events, and conference/competition/scholarship opportunities for our students. The pandemic presented additional financial challenges to our high-school drama program: no live productions = no ticket sales revenue to help cover these costs.

These students have missed so much, including the chance to attend GTC or SETC in person last year.

Eight of the MARVIN'S ROOM cast and crew are Seniors, including GTC Best Actor Recipient Jay Ponder and Best Actress Recipient Andreanna Kitas!

This is their last chance to participate and represent Georgia at SETC!

Now, more than ever, these kids need your help to reach their goals.

100% of your tax deductible donation will finance the almost $17,000 travel and convention expenses to represent the State of Georgia at SETC in Memphis next March.

Thank you for helping make this possible.

Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated, we can't do it without you!
