Dean Oakes: Chronic pain and Debilitating disease.
Hello, my name is Alaianna and my dad is Dean Oakes . (pictured is Dean and my mother, Quiana.) Dean is 44 years old and has a long history of medical problems and chronic pain that began in 2006 when he was in a semi truck accident. This accident caused him to have a debilitating spinal injury. Since then, he has had 7 back surgeries and developed a rare, incurable, and incredibly painful disease called Arachnoiditis. In July of 2021 after a surgery to install a pain pump, Dean contracted spinal meningitis and almost did not make it through.
Dean has been through a lot of pain and health problems since then. He now suffers from pain induced seizures, and is unable to get out of bed some days due to his pain. The Arachnoiditis has progressed, causing his condition to worsen physically and mentally.
Due to Dean’s condition his life expectancy is not a great outlook. We want to make his quality of life a priority, and your donations help us do that.
Dean survives on a low income and whatever his family can spare. Because of this, we are unable to afford the general things Dean needs on a monthly basis for his wellbeing and quality of life. Because of his complicated medical issues, he has to see his doctor multiple times a week. Unfortunately, his disability insurance doesn't pay for it all. It costs upwards of 2500 a year to see his doctor, and any other specialists he has to see.
We appreciate all that our donors and friends have been able to give, truly it is a blessing. Thank you all for even taking time to look over our situation. The greatest donation you could give is prayer. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
