My name is KYRA DECASTRO Binibini 18
and I have the privilege to have been selected as an official candidate of the Binibining Pilipinas USA 2017 pageant. I was selected from a nationwide search of many qualified individuals to take part in the most prestigious Filipino-American pageant, to be held in Los Angeles in Summer 2017. I am here to ask for your support as I begin my journey to the Binibining Pilipinas USA crown.
I'm 18 years old, a sophomore at UCLA, studying Political Science double major in Communications. I have been a very active youth in my community participating in numerous community events and youth programs (as a singer, an actress, entertainer, church choir member, camp counselor, volunteer, tennis player tennis coach). I have been in several musical theater productions almost every year since I was 9 years old. And this year for a change, I want to try my very first beauty pageant, thus my participation as a candidate in the Binibining Pilipinas USA 2017 Pageant.

BINIBINING PILIPINAS USA is a pageant created to showcase and highlight the beauty, intellect, and cultural pride of today's young Filipina-American. It is a pageant in search of those special young women in today's Filipino-American communities in North America with the beauty, grace and elegance to compete on an international level, have the dynamic personalities and intelligence that set them apart from the rest. The pageant will benefit and raise funds for an outstanding charitable organization, Apl.de.ap Foundation International.
I am confident that I can do well in this pageant, which could lead to many opportunities for me in the future.
