Y'all did this. And well, we got as much as we could doing work as much as my husband could with us tagging along.

And at some point, it will need a new timing belt, as it has the original. It could make it without this being replaced, but it is risky. If a timing belt snaps, it ruins the engine.

I've spoken to a WONDERFUL mechanic who has offered one heck of a discount for repairs !!!

Vehicle Legal + Repair Costs

Registration, title, and fees: $420

Timing belt replacement: $600

Tires (4): $450 (mechanic said they have tread but are dry rotted and won't make it to MN)

ABS/trac control error repair: $210

Oil change: $60

We have a lot of things going on right now between Surgery, appointments coming up VERY quick to Mayo, and unexpectedly Rob needing to caregive for a 72 year old who would otherwise not have anyone, along with me and our 6 year old.

My daughter has procedures yet again for her stomach.

Its incredibly stressful. But I have faith that we can get the rest of what we need. Thank you to everyone who has donated, prayed, said kind things, or shared our story.

TL;DR: We are in a medical and financial emergency. I urgently need a wheelchair accessible van to reach appointments out of state, including Mayo Clinic from Tennessee to Minnesota and to safely travel with my full time caregiver husband and our 6 year old daughter with special needs.

I was officially referred to Mayo Clinic. We are in Tennessee. It is an 18 hour drive. There are no insurance transport options that will get us there. No medical ride services. No coverage for long distance travel. If we cannot get there, I cannot be seen.

I am 27 years old.

I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Alpha Gal, neurological complications, generalized epilepsy, focal seizures, fainting episodes, chronic anemia, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune issues, ongoing blood loss that has led to a scheduled hysterectomy on April 2. There is also a concerning liver finding being evaluated. I have osteoarthritis and osteopenia. My body is breaking down faster than it should at my age. That is why I am being referred out of state. They cannot fix me in Tennessee.

I have a hysterectomy coming up. I require iron infusions before and after surgery. I will also need my gallbladder removed. My doctors want me seen at larger institutions like Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins as soon as possible.

I am now prescribed a motorized wheelchair.

I have been hospitalized multiple times. Over 50 hospital visits in a YEAR. Over 150 appointments in a year. That is just MINE.

Our 6 year old daughter suffers chronic stomach issues and frequently ends up needing care, too. Her issues are unknown, too. But she vomits most days, severe pain, and she is getting an endoscopy soon. There are talks of a feeding tube.

ER visits, car breakdowns, and lost income have drained us. I am on disability. My husband works and is also my full time caregiver. He cannot leave me alone safely for long periods due to seizures and fainting, PLUS everything else.

Our current vehicle cannot fit my wheelchair, our daughter, and the medical equipment we need. It also cannot handle the heat.. With my conditions, overheating can trigger fainting and seizures.

Right now we physically cannot travel together in our vehicle out of state. That means I miss appointments. That means I delay care. That means risk.

At the same time, our 6 year old daughter has her own chronic stomach issues and special needs. She needs us stable. She needs her mom alive and present AND healthy. I want to get healthy for my baby girl. I want answers from her stuff and me, so I can be the best mama I can be to her. She looks up to me.

We need a van not just to get to Mayo Clinic.

We need a van to get to weekly appointments.

We need a van to get through surgeries and recovery.

We need a van so my husband can continue working while staying with me as my caregiver.

Without it, we are stuck.

This is humbling to write. I know times are hard for everyone. I would not ask if it were not critical. Our situation is urgent.
