Kristine Matson Memorial Scholarship

One of my mom's greatest joys was mentoring Lawrence High School students as part of Raytheon's Stand and Deliver program.
Whether the kids were struggling to learn English or having trouble with math, she and her coworkers spent Tuesday afternoons tutoring them and bonding over pizza and soda. The kids didn't just improve their grades—they built friendships and gained role models.
After Mom's death in 2007, we established the Kristine Matson Unsung Hero Award & Scholarship which is given to one exceptional senior each year.
Each year, the recipients have been extra-ordinary. Every single one has shown incredible determination in the face of mind-blowing adversity, excelled or shown improvement at school, went above and beyond to help others, and left Lawrence High for a 2 or 4 year college.
I have no doubt that this year's recipient will be just as incredible (the nominations are being made now and the winner will be chosen in late May).
Would you please help me raise the funds to support this scholarship? Any amount will help, and this scholarship will truly make a difference to students who have so little financially - but are filled with hope and incredible promise.
