If you know Kristi, you know she’s the one who shows up for everyone else.

She’s a dedicated nurse, an incredible mom to her two girls, Adley and Isla, and the kind of friend who quietly takes care of others without ever asking for anything in return. That’s exactly why creating this fundraiser is so important because asking for help is not something she would ever do on her own.

September 2025, Kristi had a lump examined on her neck after it did not go away. What started as a physical exam of the site turned into something much more serious. After an ultrasound and biopsy, it was determined the next step was an excision to further determine if her enlarged lymph node was of concern. During her procedure, the surgeon discovered the mass was deeper than expected. Her lymph node was removed and sent to pathology, where she received the life-changing diagnosis: Hodgkin lymphoma. A PET scan quickly followed. They were unable to stage the cancer until further testing was done as the PET scan showed possible bone marrow concerns. Thankfully following a bone marrow biopsy, they were able to rule out any involvement of her bone marrow. She was given a stage 2 diagnosis.

Since then, Kristi has begun chemotherapy treatments every two weeks, which will continue for the next six months. She most recently finished her 4th treatment, with 8 more to come.

As a nurse, Kristi is used to caring for patients face-to-face. But because chemotherapy weakens her immune system, she’s no longer able to work in her normal role. While she has been given the opportunity to work from home doing in-basket tasks, the reality is that chemotherapy has made this incredibly difficult at times. Between medical appointments, chemotherapy side effects and mental strain intertwined with all that has been thrown her way it is hard to keep up consistent hours, although she is trying.

Through all of this, Kristi remains the main provider for her two daughters. Adley and Isla are active, vibrant kids involved heavily in sports. Adley is involved in competition dance and fastpitch softball. Isla is involved in hockey and fastpitch. Never leaving a dull moment on the table! They are truly the center of Kristi’s world.

As if this season wasn’t already heavy enough, their beloved dog Reed unexpectedly passed away last week, adding another layer of heartbreak to an already overwhelming time.

I’m writing this not just as a friend, but as someone who has experienced firsthand the kind of person Kristi is. When I moved into the neighborhood 2.5 years ago knowing no one, she was the one who welcomed me in. She quickly became one of my closest friends, and our kids are growing up side by side. She is the kind of friend, mom, and human being who makes life better for everyone around her.

Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
This fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden during her treatment, covering everyday expenses, medical bills and the gap created by reduced work hours. It’s about giving Kristi the ability to focus on what matters most right now: her health and her family during this 6-month treatment journey.

If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small. If you can’t give at this time, sharing this page would mean just as much. Please continue to share this fundraiser on your social media and by texting/emailing those around you so this can be seen by those that would be interested in helping this incredible family out.

Let’s rally around Kristi the same way she has always shown up for others!
