HI my name is Ginger and I am Krista's Mom. She is now 18 years old and has Superior Canal Dehiscence (SCD) which is thinning or complete absence or part of the temperal bone overlying the superior semicular canal of the vestubular system .
She has dealt with NON-STOP MIGRAINES from this along with having insomnia, vertigo, nausea, major sound sensitivity, memory problems, eye problems, anxiety and more. This has been going on for years.
She does not even know what it is like to be a normal teenager. About the only activites that she has been able to do has been 4-H. She had recently sold a lot of her animals as she has not been able to care for them plus the added expense of them.
The last 2 years it has gotten worse to where she can not go to school at all. Some days she barely gets out of bed or leaves her room. She have already had 4 Spinal Taps, numerous MRIs, MRAs, MRVs, CTs before the cause was found in Febuary. She has now had Surgery to try to repair it. The Dr drilled a hole in her skull & went into her skull to try to patch the holes. When he did this, he also had to sever my jaw muscles to be able to get to the area he needed. No solid foods for a while.
Yes, we have insurance but have a high deductible plus then the only pay 80% of what they deem fair.
The medical expenses are getting very high & we could use some help. Every little bit helps. Also Please SHARE.
