Kris’s fight against cancer❤️

My mom Kris’s journey with cancer started a few months back. After feeling unwell for a while she went to see her doctor. They took an x-ray and found a 3 inch by 5 inch mass in her left lung. After further testing we were told she has stage four non small cell lung cancer. It has metastasized to her spine, pancreas and lymph nodes. There have been A LOT of hospital stays for my mom. In the beginning of all of this she was taken to Saint Luke’s in Milwaukee. They found a build up of fluid around her heart and needed to perform a cardiac surgical procedure called a pericardial window. She recovered well from that and it continues to prevent build up of fluid around her heart.

She just had her second round of chemo two weeks ago (the week of my wedding.) Although it took a lot out of her she was still there for me on my special day without a complaint. She is such a fighter and amazes me everyday she chooses to fight for her life. She is responding very well to treatment and the mass in her lung even shrank a little. She has a long, hard road ahead of her and I just want to help her worry a little less if I can. She has been unable to work during all of this and her medical bills as well as living expenses are starting to pile up fast! I am asking her friends and family to come together and help support this woman because she would be there for any of us to do the same.
