Help us Find A Home!

Hi everyone,

I am trying to raise money in exchange for art, face painting, photo sessions etc so that I can afford first, last, security for a new home or apartment. (scroll to bottom) We have suddenly found ourself homeless after being served a 24 hour eviction notice.

Long story short: My husband totaled our vehicle, injured his back, and lost his job. He has been working towards a new career while I have been trying to keep up with all the bills.

Our mortgage was through Bank of America. They kept promising a modification, and kept losing my paperwork. Then they sold my note to Nationstar who also promised a modification. They approved my modification, sent me the paperwork, I filled it out and returned it, and then got a phone call saying, "Oops, we sent you that paperwork on accident and already started the foreclosure proceedings." They failed to stop the foreclosure proceedings, so assured me that their lawyers could void the sale and we could continue with the modification agreement.

Then one day a relator shows up at my house offering me cash for keys, and I explain to him that my mortgage is working on renegotiating our modification agreement. He informs that that with Cash for Keys I would have 45 days to move out and clean the entire house. If not, I would have 3 months to vacate the property. So, as a precaution, I started to slowly pack up our belongings. A month later, a sherrif arrives at my door and in front of my CHILDREN tapes a 24 hour eviction notice to my door.

We had to borrow money just to get a storage unit and a rental truck to move that we could in the first 24 hours. The Sherrif came and escorted us off our property and we had to watch as a "cleaning company" came in and threw the rest of our lives out onto the street. We salvaged as much as we could, but we also know that they didn't put out everything. They stole gaming consoles, guitars, amps, my antique violin that my great grandfather gave me, all our power tools etc.

We spent our entire 24 hours making sure all my business equipment was out and all of our kid's stuff. We understand our loss, but the kids do not understand what is going on or how it is fair. They have never even had to move before, much less watch their entire life thrown out onto the street.

I'm not asking for money, I am asking that you hire me to provide you with my services or a piece of custom artwork. I don't expect pity for the situation that we've put ourselves into. I realize that we should have packed up sooner, and we trusted the wrong people. I realize that we should have tried to move sooner. I realize how stupid this whole situation is, and the only reason I am making this is because I have had several friends suggest it. I know there are so many better things for you to spend your money on, but the sooner I can raise rent, the sooner I can get my children back into a "normal" life and not this chaos of not knowing what we are doing from day to day. Thank you!
