In May of 2019, I was diagnosed with malignant pheochromocytoma. I began traveling to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York for treatment. I received MIBG therapy and things seemed to be going well.
Friday, February 14th, I went to the hospital with a nagging headache that wouldn't go away. Imaging unfortunately revealed that the cancer has spread to my brain with a metastasis called leptomeningeal carcinomatosis. This type of Mets has a very poor prognosis and I am looking at weeks without treatment and less than 6 months with treatment. Those of you who know me, know that I'm not one to give up! I refuse to take the doctors advice of consulting hospice and living out my last few weeks. I am going to be calling Sloan Kettering to update them of the new imaging and seeing what my options are at this point. I have a 5 year old son and a 4 year old daughter, I don't plan on leaving them without a momma!
I live approx 4 1/2 hours from Sloan and am expecting to spend a lot in travel expenses to commute back and forth from the hospital. All money raised will be used for travel expenses and things related to treatment. In the event that j pass away all extra money will be donated to my children, Johnny and Savannah. Thank you all for the well wishes, prayers, and messages. The outflowing of support has been amazing. You are all so very special and give me so much hope!
