King’s Garden Children’s Home is located in Orion, Bataan Philippines. It is run by Jonathan and Vanessa Capone, a Missionary family who have given up everything they have to serve God and love His people. King’s Garden provides a Christian home to orphaned, abandoned and neglected children. Currently, they serve 37 children. I recently spent time with Jonathan and Vanessa at King’s Garden and my life was changed forever. I am beginning to share their story and do whatever I can to support them and these beautiful children who I have fallen in love with. I have big dreams and plans for bringing their message home and sharing their story and what is so desperately needed to help these children. Mathew 25:40 says, “...Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
I originally started this campaign with the goal to raise $128 for swim goggles. By your generous giving, that goal was quickly met and swim goggles are being ordered next week. Thank you!!!
I still need your help and have set a new goal. The children, the staff, and the Missionaries have no local help or extra funds at all. Their only support to run the entire home comes from churches and individuals back home. Their funds are falling short and their term is almost up. Seventeen of us from here in Washington stood there and know what they have, what they don't have, and what they need.
The money raised will buy gifts for Christmas; things the staff, the children and the Missionaries can all use. Balls, books, clothes, swim suits, kitchen utensils, new equipment, and financial assistance. We specifically want to budget $20 per child for a nice Christmas gift. Remaining funds would cover the items listed above along.
The children are well taken care of and loved. They live in a secure facility that is behind barred windows, walls and gates. They don't go beyond those gates. A few go to school outside, but most are home schooled onsite. So, their daily lives are very routine and secure, but without a lot of enrichment. Field trips help a lot. They get to see the outside world and enjoy other people and their culture.
I have brought a 2nd person, Andria, into this campaign for transparency and accountability. I want everyone to feel safe and comfortable giving to this campaign. We will change lives!! No gift is too small. Just think if 10,000 people donated just $5. Think of the impact we could make!
I am not directly affiliated with King’s Garden, nor have I been asked to do this fundraiser. I am simply finding and learning ways to support 37 precious children and 6 missionaries (Jonathan and Vanessa Capone and their beautiful children), that have become very near and dear to my heart. Thank you for reading this and for considering your support. If nothing else, may I ask that you pray for King’s Garden Children Home and the Capone family? Jessica
