As some of you may know, my mother Kim, has taken some medical time off from work. She has put on her boxing gloves and is preparing for the fight of her life, fighting a disease that has consumed the lives of so many.
On June 10, 2015, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her ovary and liver. She has a long, demanding road to recovery, but one that she won’t be traveling alone. Her children, siblings, parents and friends will be by her side while she goes through treatments. She will need constant care and monitoring during the next few months of outpatient treatment, followed by surgery to remove a tumor.
She has started to receive her treatments at the Wonderful CTCA (Cancer Treatment Center of America) in Philadelphia where she has her own team of doctors working with her to make sure she’s fighting this disease in every possible way.
Even when she should be focusing on her at this time, she is still thinking of how she can help others. Because this disease has consumed the lives of so many of her family members, Kim is looking into how she can start an Awareness campaign to help and educate others to prevent and detect early signs of Cancer.
Kim is a hardworking, caring, supportive & loving mother, Grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and co-worker. She loves making people laugh and would help anyone who needed her. Kim has always been known as the person to help others however she could and Loves & Cherish Family more than anything. Always looking to keep peace and make others happy which made her happy. So during this difficult time, it’s only natural to want to support her.
I would like to give a huge Thank you to those who have already reached out with words of support and prayers. The outreach of support has been huge, touching, Overwhelming in the greatest way. We have had several mentions of the Go Fund me account to help with expenses while my mother is off from work so here we are. Through this page, you can contribute to Kim’s lost wages, medical deductibles and expenses but most importantly this will go towards a much needed peace of mind which we can all agree is priceless. Those who know my mother, knows that she is very private and a proud woman who is use to making her own way but we managed to convince her to let others help her now as she would do for them.
