Kim's Burn Recovery

December 12th at 10 am there was a fire in the home of Kim Melanson and her caregiver/partner. Kim was seriously burned but both her and Gerv made it out alive. Unfortunately their cats did not make it and they lost everything they owned except the clothes they had on. What makes it especially horrific is the fact that Kim could not find adequate housing and had to move to a basement apartment. You see, Kim has MS. She has been in and out of the hospital now for 6 years. She has had another close call which she was in a coma and left her with significant memory loss. The day of the fire Gerv could only get her to the bottom of the stairs and wait for the fire department to arrive. 15 very traumatic minutes went by before she could be rescued while her partner would run up and down the stairs yelling for assistance. Due to this she has taken in significant amounts of smoke which has affected her breathing and has severe burns on her right arm from trying to protect her face. Her other arm and one side of her face was also burned but will heal in time. We do not know what the medical future is for Kim but she is a strong young lady and will fight to get better. Kim's MS has made walking almost impossible and she needs assistance for everything she does. She needs a ground floor apartment she can call home with a shower and bath she can set up to make life easier for her and Gerv to help. They will need everything to set up house and even new clothing as everything is gone. I hope you will join me in sending prayers of healing and assistance to these two. Can you help?
