Please help Kim Goulding beat stage 4 cancer!

Dear Friends

I'm writing today to seek your support for our little firecracker Kim. She was diagnosed July 2021 with Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC). She had a tumor removed from her left adrenal, spleen and part of her pancreas and kidney were removed.

Kim continued being active and traveling. Spending time with family, friends and of course her fur baby Barkley.

Kim gets scans every three months, recent scan shows cancer has sadly metastasized (spread) to her right adrenal gland, lungs and liver.

Like Kim, adrenal cancer is "one in a million" which makes it difficult to treat. Kim joined an online community of ACC warriors and began her own research. Advocating herself, reached out to some of the world's most experienced doctors treating this rare disease. These doctors are located at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Maryland USA. Yesterday, Kim was extremely fortunate to have an initial tele-health meeting with two of their amazing doctors.

To say they know what they're talking about is an understatement - they are spectacular!! With their advice, Kim will start new treatment plans here locally in BC, a very strong cocktail of chemo with a side of mitotane (EDP-M). This hopefully will shrink her tumor and stop the spread or she may need to travel to the USA to have surgery.

Kim has been a police dispatcher for 22 years, she's sacrificed a lot of herself for others! If you know or worked with her, you would agree she has your back on the road and in the office. She'll share her home-cooked meals with you and for me - was my personal trainer in the gym while on our work breaks, always cheering me on.

Today, I ask you please join me in supporting Kim. Let her know she is not alone, we will walk with her, cheer for her and be there at the finish line.

Grateful for the reach GoFundme has, although Kim has some insurance as you know does not cover beyond basic living expenses. Kim will be unable to work and will require travel expenses if she needs to head to Maryland. A little or a lot will help. Collectively we can do this for Kim, thank you!
