Kim has been fighting Melanoma Cancer for the last five years. She has endured multiple surgeries and has been under the Gama Knife several times. She is a miracle per UVA Hospital. Dr. Essig said he didn't expect her to live 6 months once they found her brain tumors. And three years later she is still fighting. Kim is one of the strongest and most caring people that anyone could ever know. Yesterday she was taken off of any and all medications and fluids and turned over to Hospice at Mary Washington Hospital. Her family and friends are by her side and surround her with all the love and support that can be given and then some. Kim is a nurse to the end, not only was she one of the best a hospital could ask for but she has been the best nurse for herself. Making sure just like she would her own patients that everything is done for her well being and her comfort. We ask for any donations you may be able to give to the family at this time because they need your help for medical bills and to build a memorial fund for her children. Thank you!
