Support Kimber Nishiyama's Recovery from Brain Surgery

On June 12th, 2024, Kimber Nishiyama was urgently admitted to the Kaiser ICU to undergo emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm that ruptured causing bleeding in her brain. Kimber, along with her husband, Doc Leonardo, has been a pillar in our community, tirelessly running their private chiropractic practice and volunteering through local churches to feed and clothe individuals experiencing homelessness. Kimber and Doc also care for a feral colony of 36 cats. Kimber traps, feeds, and nurses them back to health to be neutered and released. To date, they have helped 136 ferals in their neighborhood.

Despite the struggles brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kimber and Doc have never wavered in their commitment to helping others. Now, Kimber needs our help.

Current Situation

Kimber's prognosis is hopeful; she is expected to make a full recovery within six months, provided there are no complications. Her condition is currently stable, and she is responding well to treatment. However, the road to recovery will be long and challenging, requiring consistent and comprehensive care.

How You Can Help

I am reaching out to you because I am not in California to offer physical assistance. Therefore, I am doing what I can from afar to support Kimber and Doc Leonardo Canone during this difficult time.

Your contributions will go towards:

Medical bills and ongoing treatment

Essential living expenses (food, toiletries, etc.)

Household bills and utilities

In addition to financial support, we are also seeking volunteers to assist Doc with daily tasks such as shopping, picking up prescriptions, and household chores.
