On Feb. 25, 2014 Kiltee Edgmon went for a CT scan on her swollen lymph nodes and was sent directly to CHOC Children's Hosptial. Once at CHOC Kiltee was subjected to a battery of tests spanning the next several days. Her tests included extensive blood work, a biopsy and the harvesting of her bone marrow to name a few. The results came back with the devasting diagnosis of Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Kiltee will be in and out of CHOC for treatments for a minimum of 6-8 months.
I'm sure most of us can only imagine the emotional and financial burden this will be on Kiltee and her family. We are hoping with this site we can help remove some of the financial worries from her family. In the immediate future we have to make some renovations to their home so that Kiltee can have the sterile environment she will need to fight this fight. There are also extreme costs that are not covered by the families insurance. Every donation large and small will make a difference to this family.
Although this diagnosis is heart wrenching if you know Kiltee you know she has what it takes to beat this diagnosis. We are so thankful for the love and support from all of the people around us. "It takes a village" has never been more true and we couldn't have been more blessed with our "village"!
