Kilo’s Goodbye: Medical & Memorial Support

Donation protected

As of 5/29/2025, we have said goodbye to our sweet boy. All proceeds will go to paying off his medical bills we had to put on carecredit. Thank you all so much.

My name is Alyssa Varca with my husband Josh, and we're hoping to raise money to help with our pup's medical bills.
Kilo, also known as 'foofy' and 'foofykins' is a four year old Husky/Gsd/Akita mix and is our happy-go-lucky, talkative boy with the goofiest personality. He woos, he sings, he knows that when we ask "Alexa" to "play ambulence sirens", its time to howl and carry-on with his siblings.

May 25th after days of unable to keep food down, and false feelings of him likely feeling better, we decided it was time to take him to the vet and we didnt want to wait until morning. We arrived at Crestview Animal Hospital around 9:30pm and after bloodwork and his physical exam (other than some paleness to his gums) came back perfect, we decided to xray for a possible obstruction. Hes not the type to get into things but accident happens and he's a bit quirky... he LOVES to hold and 'baby' small cat toys and other certain normal dog toys he decides are his favorite for the month. It was most often a book toy, and we had the running joke that 'He likes to read!' because he seriously carries it everywhere and nobody else was allowed to 'read' his book.
Xrays unfortunately came back 'inconclusive'. Our vet could not give us any definitives but told us he had widened intestine that showed abnormality in some aspect. And, to our surprise, he was concerned about a possible mass in the abdomen. Not something you want to hear especially when it was comepletely out of the blue.
We do not enjoy asking for money, or for help in any regard really, but these dogs are my life and no matter the price, I cant just know the 'ifs'. After a barium test, ER visit and meds to go home with, we are looking at $3,000. This is all not including the follow up we will have to do with UGA for an internal specialist to look at this mass Kilo has. Im completely heartbroken and also kicking myself as a dog owner- Insurance would be a lot of help at this time but alas, we dont have it. Honestly I dont even want to make this but if it can help even a little, why not? Especially when we still likely have thousands more to come in figuring out this mass.
We appreciate everyone and even just a share helps, thank you.
