On the day we began learning about the human heart in IB Biology, I became fascinated with the systems of the human body. I realized that during class I had been sitting and listening to my teacher while smiling. It was that day that I decided I would become someone who studies and works with the human body on a daily basis: I decided I wanted to be a doctor.

Instead of forgetting about that feeling of inspiration, I started looking for ways that I can make this an achievable goal. I started researching universities that have excellent biology and pre-medical programs, and I started looking for summer programs that I can involve myself in right now to help me bring my desired future a little bit closer.

This brings me to the point of this GoFundMe; I am excited to announce that I've been accepted into Brandeis University's Global Youth Summit on the Future of Medicine in June of 2017! I'm privileged to be among this group of less than 250 students from around the globe to expand my knowledge in the Medical Field at Brandeis University located in Boston, Masachusetts. At this Summit, I will learn from the brightest minds in medicine, explore top-tier medical institutions, work collaboratively with my peers, and be mentored by medical students. 

I go to Sacred Heart Academy, and have been very interested in Biology since Freshman year, and I am currently taking a college level (IB) Biology course for my Junior and Senior years. Throughout my high school career, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA with a rigorous course selection. I am a member of the National Honor Society, and have been a member of the Varsity Basketball Team since Freshman year.
