Kike & Jaime Quality of LIFE

Donation protected

Kike and Jaime are my cousins. Kike is 26 and Jaime is 22 years old. They were born with Brittle Bone Disease in El Salvador. This is a genetic disease that attacks their bones. They suffer frequent bone fractures and breaks, which are painful and costly when treated. They do not have proper medical care due to the cost, so they have resorted to treating their injuries themselves. This is unacceptable and they deserve our help. Can you imagine if your bones broke on a daily basis and you couldn't afford a doctor's appointment?

I have created this fund in hopes to find them help to give them a decent quality of life. Their mother has been a single mother most of their life and she is desperate for help with her sons.

They are in dire need to have the basic necessities in life. As a family member in the U.S., I feel like it is my responsibility to try and get them as much help as possible. I wish I could bring them here so they can receive the proper care but that is impossible for me.

In addition to the house, they also have mobility issues. Kike is the older brother, and he uses cardboard boxes to move around. Jaime is a little less able and he needs more assistance moving. They had a motorized wheelchair that was old and they refurbished it in order to use it. Unfortunately, the chair is no longer working and they need help to replace it. We are also trying to raise enough money to get them both motorized wheelchairs and appropriate beds for both of them. One of them also needs hearing aids, which are really expensive in El Salvador.

Life is too short, they deserve a decent life with basic mobility. I please ask that you help us with anything you can. Our family is also working together to help them. I will personally be working on this process for them from Boston. I have plans to visit them in December, so I am praying we can send them as much as possible.

Kike and Jaime are so inspirational and they give the world hope. They dream of being able to work to help their mom financially. Let's keep their dreams going and give them the assistance they have been deprived of thus far.
