Kierstin's Brain Surgery Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On April 10th, Kierstin was physically assaulted by her baby’s father. Although she was beaten severely her brain scan at that time did not show any bleeding. She was scheduled to follow up with the traumatic brain injury doctor, but they couldn’t get her in till June 23rd.
For 4 weeks things seemed to go well and Kierstin was headed in the right direction. Then her family started noticing behaviors that seemed off and she kept saying something wasn’t right.
On Sunday, June 13th, she went to the ER to try and get answers. Her physical condition worsened and on Wednesday they finally decided to do a brain scan. The results showed her brain was partially herniated and the amount of blood between her skull and brain was astronomical. Doctors said most people with that much blood can not walk or talk which is why she was being misdiagnosed. They were shocked her brain did not fully herniate and kill her. While we can’t be certain yet if the incident on April 10th caused this it is looking that way.
She is awake and has her breathing tube out and she has some paralysis on her right side. We don’t know what type of permanent damage we are facing but do know the road to recovery will be a long one. Probably a month hospitalized and a couple of months in rehab.
Originally this gofundme was set up after the abuse occurred and although we raised well above what we had hoped for, that money didn’t last long. It was used for bills and general living expenses while she was searching for a job. She started a job two weeks ago but obviously will be unemployed again for quite some time.
If you would like to help financially in any way you can do so through this gofundme. Kierstin's mom will manage these fund to care forbaby Axel, paying Kierstin's basic bills, and medical expenses.
Lastly please PRAY! Even if it's all you can do please pray for a full recovery.
