In Honour of Kieran Wilson

Donation protected
The Ingersoll Seiwa Kai Canada Honbu Dojo and WMO Canada are working together to raise funds for the Wilson Family. Recently their son Kieran passed away during a trip to Spain for the WMO World Championships.

Kieran began his karate training in April 2013 and was an absolute joy to have in class. There was never a dull moment with Kieran. He loved to help other students and create different games and obstacle courses for younger students. His leadership skills were starting to shine as he taught younger students basic techniques. If you ever needed help, Kieran was the first one to offer his helping hands. His cheesy jokes were never ending, but always made you chuckle and wonder where he comes up with the things he says.

Just over a year ago, he began training to compete in elite divisions and was just starting to really succeed. He qualified for the Ontario Summer Games this past August and the WMO World Championships in Costa del Sol, Spain. Last fall, he spent many Sunday afternoons training with the Karate Ontario provincial team as they prepared for nationals. It was rare for Kieran to miss a tournament, seminar, or any other dojo activity. The younger students looked up to him for advice as they competed for the first time.

Kieran loved nature (particularly frogs, snakes, lizards). Even at karate summer camps when we would go to the park, he would lead the kids around searching for little insects. He enjoyed fishing at Poppa's boat in Sarnia. Hanging out at Grandpa's farm walking in the woods and going on his 4-wheeler. He loved dinosaurs, fossils, and stones. Catching crayfish at the creek and catching butterflies. He was wanting to join golf at IDCI. He loved his grandma and cousins and of course his brother. He always asked for Chapter's gift cards for holidays as he had a love for books. Some of his favourites were How to Train a Dragon, the Harry Potter series, and Dr. Who. He's the kind of kid who would give up his seat for others and give hugs tight enough to break bones. He was outgoing, yet always felt alone. He was sensitive, but never let it show in public. He would want to be seen as grown up, but always had time for snuggles. He loved to cook and was very adventurous in his choices.

We would like to help the family by providing some financial support for the funeral costs as they go through this difficult time. The family needs support to bring Kieran home from Spain and that is a large expense we would like to help with. We thank you for your support. It means a lot to everyone.

The family would also like to start a memorial fund to help underprivileged  youth in the community. Funds from this campaign will also go towards this project.

He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Thank you!

Why God Made Little Boys

God made a world out of His dreams,
Of magic mountains, oceans, and streams,
Prairies and plains and wooded land.
Then paused and thought
I need someone to stand, on top of the mountains,
And confuse the seas, explore the plains
And climb the trees.
Someone to start out small and grow,
Sturdy and strong like a tree and so
He created boys, full of spirit and fun
To explore and conquer, to romp and run
With dirty faces, and banged up chins
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
And when He had completed the task He'd begun,
He surely said, "That's a job well done."
