OUR prayers have been answered!
My son, Andy Jeanty ( Pierre Andre Jeanty), was in need of a kidney donor for his transplant. Several people have stepped forward to be tested to be a kidney donor. I am over-joyed to share with you that one of them, Taylor-Max Ricart, is a perfect match! I am in tears and beyond thankful. I thank the Lord every day for Taylor-Max and the new life he is going to bring to my son!
Taylor-Max is such a giving person, not only for what he is doing for my son, but also for all the work he has selflessly done to help others in need around him. Over the past 4 years that he has volunteered on 3 trips to assist Angel Wings International in bringing help to those most in need of medical care in Haiti. I would have never thought that my son’s own life would be saved by one of the volunteers who has gone to Haiti to help with Andy’s charitable organization.
As Andy’s friend, Taylor-Max knew he was called to help Andy. He just couldn’t stand to see the negative impact kidney failure was having on his friend, and he knew a life on dialysis was going to significantly impact the good my son can do in this world. So, once Taylor-Max found out he was a match, he bought a stuffed toy kidney and gave it to my son saying, “This is me, giving you, my kidney. Now go out and continue doing good in the world.”
As Andy’s friends and family, we could never repay Taylor Max for his huge generosity and selflessness in giving of his own body to save Andy’s life. However, I know we can at least reduce the burden and challenges of the transplant and post care expenses.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $27,000 to help cover the expenses Taylor-Max and loved ones will experience in relation to the kidney donation: post transplant recovery cost, loss of income, expenses of food & shelter, caretakers, travel of loved ones and costly medicine.
We hope you will join us in our effort to alleviate the financial burden that a kidney donation brings to the donor and caretakers. A contribution of any amount will be greatly appreciated to assist with recovery costs.
The kidney transplant, which is scheduled to take place coincidently on Taylor-Max's 27th BIRTHDAY, April 22, will give Andy a new lease on life.
With overwhelming thanks and love from a mother’s heart,
Muriel
A little background on Andy’s condition.
Andy (Pierre Andre Jeanty) was born with a genetic condition called, Polycystic Kidney Disease. Despite the severity of this kidney disease, Andy’s life has been fairly normal until this past December when he was rushed to the hospital with great pains in his lower back. Upon examination, he was told he had a serious rupture of cysts, and his kidneys had gone into complete kidney failure. The doctors told him he had less than three months to live unless he began dialysis immediately.
The first few weeks were very scary… as Andy’s body continued to wither due to severe toxic conditions kidney failure. Thankfully, Andy’s body began to respond extremely well to dialysis and his health has improved dramatically.
Sadly, the doctors shared that Andy’s kidneys would never gain back their function and he would remain tethered to a dialysis machine three days a week for the rest of his life unless he was able to find a kidney donor to expand his life expectancy. We started testing for potential donors immediately. Neither my daughter, Rachel, nor myself were a match, however several other donors came forward to see if they were a compatible match and we found a perfect match!
