Our dear friend Khaled Adams had a rough 2015. For many years, he has led an active lifestyle with a spinal condition called scoliosis, without ever having it interfere with his many passions in life. The scoliosis is now severe and he will require one or more surgeries over the next 6-12 months to prevent the progression of this already debilitating condition. (The full x-ray image is below; it tells the whole story.)
Outdoor enthusiast doesn’t even begin to describe Khaled’s love for camping, hiking, canoeing, carving, building, creating, and just being in nature. Sadly, these passions along with his career as a graphic artist and game designer have to be put on hold while Khaled deals with increasingly painful physical limitations and daily challenges.
Our goal for this fundraising campaign is to raise $6000 to help ease the financial burden that comes with being off work due to the scoliosis.
In addition to the gofundme initiative, we will be hosting a benefit concert and silent auction January 23, 2016 featuring Slowcoaster, Heavy Doobie, and the Galpines, with all proceeds going directly to Khaled to help cover his day-to-day living expenses. (The event will be held at the Moncton Lions Club, 55 Mark Avenue.)
There are a few ways you can choose to help; any and all of which will be highly appreciated contributions to an awesome person in an extremely unfortunate situation which any of us could find ourselves in.
As friends of Khaled we could not sit back and let him face these challenges alone and have organized our efforts to do all that we can. Please accept our sincerest THANKS and GRATITUDE for all of your support. Know that this initiative is all going directly to a kind and amazing person who would be so happy to do the same for friends and strangers alike.
With Kindest Regards,
Friends of Khaled
