Hi everyone, my name is Reyna, and I’d like to introduce you to my beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Keziah. Keziah is full of energy, love, and curiosity. She’s a vibrant little girl with a sparkling personality, loves to give big hugs and she also happens to be on the spectrum.
I first noticed that Keziah was hitting her milestones until around 6 months old, when she began to experience regression. She stopped responding to her name and wasn’t verbal. I started to suspect autism as she exhibited hand flapping, stimming, and other signs. Keziah has always been in early intervention and began speech and occupational therapy shortly after she turned 1. She was officially diagnosed with autism at 2 ½ years old.
This past year brought many changes for our family. I had to stop working not only because I was pregnant with my son, Emiliano, who is now 5 months old, but also because Keziah’s therapy and class schedules just couldn’t fit with my job of 4 years and with Keziah only caregiver telling me they weren’t able to care for her due to her Autism progressing. I made the decision to rely on my partner’s income while focusing on Keziah’s needs and our growing family.
One area where Keziah struggles most is communication. While we’ve seen a little improvement in her ability to communicate, she still isn’t speaking. She has Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder, which makes it difficult for her to understand and express language. Keziah also has sensory processing disorder, which makes her world overwhelming at times. These communication struggles often lead to frustration, meltdowns, and self-harm, especially when she’s unable to tell us what she needs or if she’s feeling unwell. As her mom, I am always advocating for her, making sure her needs are met and her voice is heard.
About Stem Cell Therapy and Autism
Stem cell therapy is an emerging treatment that has shown promising results for children with autism. It involves using stem cells, often from a child’s own body or donated umbilical cord blood, to reduce inflammation in the brain and repair damaged cells. Scientists believe this can improve communication, social skills, and overall behavior in children with autism.
After extensive research, we have found a treatment center in Panama that has accepted Keziah. I reached out to clinics in the US, Mexico, and India, but ultimately decided that this center in Panama was the best fit for her. The treatment consists of a 6 day stay, including 5 days of therapy with 40 million expanded allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells administered intravenously. The stem cells are designed to help repair damaged cells, reduce inflammation, and support her brain’s development.
This therapy has the potential to improve many areas where Keziah struggles, including communication, sensory processing, focus, sleeping and emotional regulation. While still considered experimental, families worldwide have shared incredible success stories, which give us hope for Keziah’s future.
Unfortunately, this therapy is costly and isn’t covered by insurance. We are reaching out to our community for support to make this treatment possible. Every dollar helps us get closer to giving Keziah the opportunity to reach new milestones and fulfill her potential.
If you’d like to support us further, you can also check out my small business on Facebook, Party Lyfe LLC, which offers bounce house rentals and event decorating services. Keziah actually inspired me to start my bounce house business because she loves to jump around and enjoys bounce houses so much. Her room is even set up like a mini sensory gym! I wanted to create something that could bring joy to other kids.
Thank you for taking the time to read Keziah’s story and for any support you can offer, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or supporting my business. We believe in Keziah’s bright future and are grateful to have you on this journey with us.
