Kevin "Kitt" Kittrell Memorial Scholarship Fund

It is hard to believe it has been almost a year and a half since we lost this remarkable man who was so beloved by his friends, family, former classmates, and fellow soldiers.
Kevin's best friend, John Richmond, gave him this tribute in a eulogy at his funeral: "He was never the guy who wanted to be the center of attention. He was a there you are person and not a here I am person. Even into his final weeks, he mustered his strength to care about how his impending departure from earth would affect others." To celebrate his life, we are raising funds for a memorial scholarship to be given to a college-bound, graduating senior at Tabb High School (Kevin's alma mater). The recipient will be a scholar-athlete whose character and leadership demonstrates that he or she is following in Kevin's footsteps.
Our goal is $10,000 for a one-time scholarship, but if we are able to raise more, we will extend the timeframe into additional years. (For example, if we raise $27,000 we will give away $10,000 in Year 1, $10,000 in Year 2, and $7,000 in Year 3.)
The funds will go directly into a separate bank account set up by Kevin's parents, Kenneth and Sharon Kittrell. The scholarship committee will be comprised of members from Kevin's family, with select current Tabb High school staff and former classmates serving in an advisory role.
