Urgent Health Care for Kenyan Kids
Approximately two months ago, Kenya's public sector doctors went on strike, leaving millions of Kenyans without access to basic health care.
The impact has been devastating on Kenyans, particularly the poor in rural areas where clinics are few and far between. While health care for many of these people was nearly out of reach, now it's nearly impossible.
You can read about it here - http://www.voanews.com/a/kenya-doctors-strike-deadly-toll-poor/3742053.html.
For just $2k, we can fund a one-day health clinic at two schools/orphan homes to help those in the most dire circumstances. If funded, the clinics woud be held at the Boston Children's Centre (http://bostonschoolsmatopeni.org)
in the Matopeni slum in Nairobi, Kenya and the Rafiki Caring Home (Rafikicaringhome.com) in Western Kenya's Ibencho District. The picture posted here is from a similar clinic that provided vaccinations and basic care at the Rafiki Caring Home for less than $600 in 2014.
Donations would be tax-deductible in the U.S. through Sahaya International (Sahaya.org). Our goal is to fund these clinics as soon as possible so the money would be transfered quickly after reaching our goal! Pictures and updates would follow immediately following the clinics!
