Hi everyone. My name is Kathy Forte, & Kent Michael Hoffman is my nephew.
On January 8th , while working in Ohio, Kent was taken to a hospital with a debilitating headache, after a scan he was life lined by helicopter to Ohio State University hospital in Columbus. He had suffered an aneurysm and stroke. While recovering he ended up having two more strokes and another brain surgery to place a second stent and to further manage the diseased blood vessel in his brain . In the past 36 days he has fought through a couple of bouts of pneumonia, and other procedures, but God has answered our prayers and he's still fighting and on his way to recovery. Chantel has been by his side every day. She has to be there, not just because he needs her, but she is his advocate. We now know that the proton beam radiation treatments that saved his life 25 years ago are also what caused the deterioration and diseased blood vessel of one of the main arteries by brain stem. All that being said, we don't know when he will be out of ICU, but we do know it could be a lengthy recovery and not sure about what rehabilitation he will need. We are grateful for all of your prayers and ask that you continue to keep Kent, Chantel and family in your prayers. It's also become very costly, and we don't know how much medical bills will total. We don't know when Kent will return to work, but anyone who knows him, knows that he has always worked hard and will do the same when he is able. Chantel hasn't been able to work because she hasn't left his side, he needs her there. The kids have been able to come visit, and we are happy that family has helped so much , especially big thanks to Chantel's grandma Julia and grandpa Rick. By them watching the kids has also allowed this momma to make trips to spend time with her son. We realize these are hard times for so many, but any donation will be greatly appreciated, we wished we could take care of everything, but it's far out of our reach. I will keep updates on this page, and we want you all to know we are grateful for any help you can give.
