On December 18th, 2015 Ken Harvey (72 yrs.) of Charlotte, TN (outside of Nashville ) lost a significant portion of his treasured small cabin home leaving him homeless with only a few materialistic possessions that he was able to save while evacuating. The fire, which started in the chimney, quickly spread across the attic and down the walls causing his home to become uninhabitable. We are very thankful that, although Ken lost most of his possessions, he was at least able to escape the fire safely
Ken’s financial income is that of his social security check, which leaves him living paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, since he did not have any insurance on the home which is in a very remote & secluded area, the road ahead will be most challenging unless he is able to raise financial assistance.
Funds raised through donors like you, will be used for both Ken’s interim living expenses and for the rebuilding effort of the home itself. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! Please share this request with anyone you know that may be able to help as well. Thank you in advance for your prayers and donations in his time of need.
Ken was a member of the Country Music community as a talented lead guitarist for over 35 years. Ken’s career started very young as a member of Bobby Vee’s (1961-1963) and Buddy Knox’s (1964) bands, before joining singer Judy Lynn in Las Vegas as one of her showroom band members (1967-1968) to name a few. During this time, he crossed paths with Dottie West and joined her band from 1972-1973. After a brief hiatus he rejoined her in 1978-1980 as her lead guitarist, even playing on some of her session work, before joining Billie Jo Spears on the road. Ken remained a close friend of Dottie’s until her 1991 passing.
Ken has a great love for music history in general, but especially for Country Music and the Grand Ole Opry. He has spent his entire life dedicated to music and to those that he has backed. He was inducted into the “Midwest Rock & Country Hall of Fame” in 2007 with Bobby Vee and The Shadows.
