I am writing to share the story of my incredible nephew, Kendric, who is currently facing an unimaginable battle. At just 16 years old, Kendric has already endured so much. Diagnosed with brain cancer at the tender age of three, he has shown remarkable strength and resilience. However, this past year has brought new challenges as he has suffered through three brainstem strokes, each one taking a toll on his health and his ability to enjoy the activities he loves, particularly playing his favourite sport, basketball. Having to spend repeated periods in the hospital over the course of a year can be an exhausting and emotionally draining experience, especially for a child. Each admission brings a mix of anticipation and anxiety as familiar routines are disrupted time and again. It seems like just as our superhero makes gains with recovery, life throws him another curve ball.
Kendric's journey has definitely been filled with ups and downs, but his spirit remains unbroken. He is a bright, loving, brave and determined young boy who deserves every opportunity to live a long, happy, and healthy life. We believe that with the right support and treatment, Kendric can regain his strength and continue to pursue his passions. We are seeking opinions of doctors all over the world to help Kendric have the best outcome possible. The family is waiting to hear back from Boston Children's Hospital to see if they can help Kendric from having these repeated life threatening strokes. If this incredible team agrees to a consult with Kendric, the family will have to pay out of pocket which can be a considerable amount of money.
They already have the financial burden of medical treatments, travel, equipment and ongoing care that is already overwhelming enough to this family. This is where we need your help. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and family to support Kendric in any way you can. Whether it’s through donations, doing a fundraiser, sharing his story, sending him a little something to see him smile or simply giving them positive thoughts and prayers, every little bit helps.
Together, we can make a difference in Kendric's life. Your support will not only help cover his medical expenses but also provide Kendric with the hope and encouragement he needs to keep fighting. Let’s rally around him and show him that he is not alone in this battle.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for considering supporting Kendric. If you would like to contribute or learn more about his journey, please feel free to reach out to me directly or visit: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064267256727
