Ken Bottoms Medical Care
Donation protected
My Dad, Ken Bottoms, was diagnosed on March 18th with a brain tumor. On April 8th he underwent surgery to remove the tumor which was the size of an egg. Immediately following the surgery he was rushed back into surgery due to a brain bleed and a massive blood clot. The pathology revealed that the tumor was a glioblastoma, which is the most aggressive and deadliest form of brain cancer. There is no cure. Dad has spent 2 months in and out if the hospital, and in and out of rehab. The second surgery created such trauma on the brain that he is still struggling to recover, and as a result is not a candidate for any kind of treatment involving radiation and chemo. He has just moved into a care home and is receiving 24/7 nursing care and therapy. He really wants to come home, but he is too much for Mom to handle. We don't know how long he will be with us, and we are holding onto hope for a miracle, but we have been told it is probably a matter 3 or 4 months before he goes home to be with our Lord.
The purpose of this request is for my Mom. She and my Dad will hopefully celebrate their 59th anniversary on September 7th. The picture I chose was of their 50th anniversary. She has always depended on him to be at her side through laughter and tears, celebrations and hardship, and they have always held hands through thick and thin. She is now alone and overwhelmed by what life will hold without him. In the meantime, enormous medical bills are piling up, and his continued care is very expensive. For those of you who know my Dad, you will agree that he is the kindest, gentlest, most loving and dedicated father and husband anyone could ask for. He has spent the majority of his life taking care of Mom, and now that he can't I am asking for your help. Any small donation would be the biggest of blessings to her. Thank you and God Bless you.
