Kellan Grey ~ Our Little Warrior

We are so filled with joy for the arrival of our second baby boy, Kellan Grey. It was such a challenging pregnancy and having his safe arrival makes us truly blessed parents. From fears of a major heart condition, plural effusion throughout the pregnancy, and an umbilical vein varix in the final trimester, we are so fortunate after the long 9 month pregnancy that he is perfectly healthy!
Even though Kellan is a perfectly healthy baby boy, he was diagnosed with a small heart condition and has a bicuspid aortic valve. At this moment, it poses no threat to him but will require monitoring for the rest of his life. About 1 in a 100 adults today have this similar condition and many are completely unaware.
Being as fortunate as we were at the end, we are asking that in lieu of any traditional baby gifts for Kellan, to instead provide a small contribution to a childrens foundation in Kellan's honor.
The foundations we will donate the funds to are The Childrens Congenital Heart Disease Foundation & The Lucille Packard Foundation for Childrens Health.
These two foundations are there to help many less fortuante babies who are diagnosed with much more extreme heart conditions or to the families who need specialized care for their children. Our children mean everything to us and any of us would do anything to keep them healthy. It is the least we can do to give back to those in need in these situations.
