Keith and Kevin Burney are twins that are one year old and have recently been diagnosed with Hurlers Disease (MPS 1). Hurlers Disease is caused when Alpha-L Iduronidase is not present to create Mucopolysaccharides which in turn causes organs to fail. Symptoms appear during childhood and early death can occur due to organ damage. Treatment for Hurlers is harsh processes which involves the twins enduring a round of Chemotherapy in order to prepare for a Bone Marrow transplant which will not cure Hurlers Disease just simply slow the progression of the disease. This fund is being created so that our family can raise money to make this journey a bit easier for us. The twins have already spent many months of their short lives away from home in the hospital. Our biggest need is transportation. This would help our family tremendously. We would really appreciate any donations to help us during this process.
