Help Keavy get medical equipment

Keavy’s Hickman line 








Hi my name is Laura my beautiful niece Keavy has unfortunately been diagnosed with Intestinal failure due to her digestive system not absorbing enough nutrients to keep her alive this has led to Keavy being put on total Parenteral Nutrition, because she can eat or drink. The (tpn) is fed directly into one of her main veins near the heart . Her feeds can last anywhere from 12 to 24 hours depending on what feed she needs .

Any infections can cause complications as we know but anything Such as a cold for her can make her seriously unwell because she has a very low emunity to can not fight bugs or infections as well as other people can. If keavy catchs an infections and it gets to her Hickman line in her chest it will have to be removed leading to her not receiving and nutrition what she desperately needs everyday to keep her going.

keavy is 19 years old the whole family are heartbroken that her condition has got this bad so fast and resaulting in them almost loosing her 3 times dues to infection/sepsis or her blood levels being low . Keavy has achieved so much the past few years she has worked her way up to being a level 3 qualified chef .keavy also has done skydiving for charities helping others have the best quality of life ,Keavy has always put other first before herself and is still trying to do so even being so unwell she is a massive inspiration to everyone that knows her.

keavy’s main hobbie is running the cheese rolling event what she has won twice now! But won’t be able to take part in anymore, as well as not being able to work anymore and having to give everything up because off her health is devestateing for us as her family members watching the younge inspired woman she has become loose everything .

The reason I have made her a fundraising page is because I would like to help raise 5000 pound for Keavy for have a comfortable home to live in when she’s not in hospital. keavy will need medical equipment such as a stair lift and an extension built on the to the house she lives in for her to have a safe environment for her home (tpn) feeding .

keavy also needs to be able to travel to the hospital she is staying in for appointments what is a 3/4 hour journey each way. This by train is clearly out of the question as if someone is has a bug or catchable infection while she is traveking keavy Wont be as strong as others at fighting the bug or infection off if she catches it infection and her body wont be able to fight it off that well so travelling is a risk to keavy.

We love keavy very much and will do anything to help get her home for Christmas and indefinitely in the future please can you find it with in your hearts to help Keavy and her parents/ my sister katrina and brother-in-law graham give Keavy and her 3 brothers the best Christmas they deserve. The last 6 months have been hell for the family, her 3 brothers one of the brothers is 9 months and family and friends are helping take care of my nephews when my sister a brother-in-law are away spending time with Keavy as she is seriously still unwell.
