What' Our Story...
Brian and I have had a surprising, but amazing door set open before us. It has all happened very quickly, but we take even that as a sign that we are supposed to move forward.
Over December of 2015, we saw a photo that captured our hearts and now is destined to change our lives. We've always had a heart for orphans around the world, but on Christmas Eve this went a step further. We were matched with and given the opportinity to adopt a BEAUTIFUL baby girl from China!
We feel such a connection to her already. Her name is "Kaylee Joy" (which means Crowned with Beautiful Joy). It totally fits her in every way, despite her difficult beginnings.
Kaylee has been through a lot in her two years of life. She was abandoned at a police station, a few days after her birth. From there she was moved into the care of a local orphanage. Kaylee has also faced some pretty major medical conditions. She was born with a hole in her heart and a heart valve that allows blood to stream back into her lungs. She has already had a heart procedure done in China, but really needs the ongoing type of care that she can receive in the States.
What's the Timeline...
We've found out that a normal international adoption can take years! The Lord has definitely accelerated it for us. We believe that part of it is because of Kaylee's conditions, but also that NC and with us is where she needs to be! We are now looking to bring her home before the end of the summer. This is amazingly fast, but we believe it is possible!
What Now...
We are now in the midst of the paperwork and raising the funds to bring her home. The amount of paperwork, red tape, and funds to make this happen has taken our breath away at times. It can be pretty intimidating, but we keep hearing, "Peace, you're going in the right direction", so we are moving forward! Just as we have experienced adoption through Christ, we are overjoyed by the chance to live out the gospel in this amazing way.
What's Next...
Logistically, this means that we have to raise $40,000 by June, to finalize the adoption and bring Kaylee home. Between two governments, travel to China, and numerous required fees along the way it definitely adds up. All of the money raised will go directly to the agency that is coordinating Kaylee's adoption.
Asking for help is not something that we do normally and it isn't something that we take lightly. We have already been impacted, by the support we have felt while sharing Kaylee's story. We've seen how we can't do this alone, but also there is a joy in having others on this journey with us.
We have come up with a puzzle fundraiser, so that everyone can have a piece in Kaylee coming home.
Here is how it works...
We have created a 20,000 piece puzzle of the photo posted below. Each puzzle piece is a $20.00 donation. As donations come in we will post the progress of the puzzle coming together. We will also put the individuals name on the back of each piece. This will create not only an amazing picture on the front, but an enduring memory on the back.
Once the puzzle is complete all the funds will be in to bring Kaylee home!
Please prayerfully consider contributing any amount, large or small, to this endeavor. We have one more approval that we need from China before we can show Kaylee's picture on any form of social media, but we would be happy to share it with you in person. We are sure you will feel a connection with her as we do!

* Pray that the remainder of the paperwork would be filed seamlessly and would move quickly and easily through both governmental systems.
* Pray that all funds would come in quickly, so that Kaylee come home soon!
*Pray for FAVOR as we apply for grants to help with expenses!
*Pray for an easy transition for Kaylee as she comes into a new country and family, and that her name will equal out to her new life here.
* Pray for Kaylee's health. We are asking God to touch her heart and grant her perfect health.
