February 2015I MADE IT! Junior World Snowboard Championships in China HERE TO COME! My first season of professional coaching and lots of hard work has paid off. I have qualified as one of the TOP 3 JUNIORS in the US and will be representing the US at the Junior World Championships in Yabuli China.
PLEASE take a moment to donate to my Jr. World 's fund! Every $$ counts!
THANK YOU for all your kind words and financial support. YOU are helping make my dreams come true!
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I am Katie Wilson. I have been snowboarding, training, and competing for over 11 years. It is my dream to compete in the Olympics in 2018.
During those 11 years I have worked hard to balance school and my training. I have reached the point where I am ready to break out of the amateur ranks and work hard and dedicate to prepare myself for my own Olympic road.
The first stop on my road will be the Junior Worlds in 2015.
I need my friends, family, and supporters to help make my dream come true. My parents are working hard to cover my expenses, but with 3 other kids at home, its tough and I want to help too. I want to help raise some of my training expenses for the upcoming season. The estimated total cost of my winter training at Carrabassett Valley Academy tuition, travel expenses, Gold Camp Training, and gear is about $45,000. I will be working this summer, training, and working with a personal trainer during my free time. I want to help my family by raising $15,000 to help with some of the travel and training expenses.
With minimal boardercross specific training, I have been able to compete with some of the top junior women in the country and leave my mark. I know with the right training and opportunities, I can be one of THE BEST boardercross women in the world. Please help me, help my parents, pave my road to success.
