**Update, Katie’s Spine Stabilization Surgery Today**
Today is a pivotal day in Katie’s recovery journey. After being safely transported back to Utah, Katie will undergo spine stabilization surgery this afternoon. This procedure is critical in addressing the serious transverse spinal fracture she sustained in the accident, and we are incredibly grateful that she is in the hands of a skilled and compassionate medical team.
The past few weeks have been an emotional whirlwind for Katie and her family, filled with uncertainty and overwhelming challenges. Yet, through it all, your support has provided them with much-needed strength and hope. Knowing that Katie is receiving world-class care has brought a sense of relief, but the road ahead remains long and uncertain.
As Katie undergoes this crucial surgery today, we ask for your continued thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes. Every message of encouragement and every donation has made a difference in helping Katie focus on her recovery without the added worry of financial stress.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing by Katie and her family during this time. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
With our deepest gratitude,

**Update, Urgent: Katie Needs Our Help**
Katie’s situation remains critical. Her doctors have emphasized that she needs the spine stabilization surgery in Utah, not in Guatemala. To ensure she gets the best care, Katie will be transported via air ambulance to the University of Utah Medical Center within the next 24-48 hours.
While we are incredibly grateful for the financial support that has come in so far, the costs continue to climb, causing extreme financial and emotional stress for Katie and her family.
We urgently need your help. Please consider donating to Katie’s GoFundMe and sharing her story far and wide. Every dollar and every share makes a difference.
Together, we can help Katie get the care she desperately needs.
With much love and gratitude,
The Laparra Family

**Update: Urgent Medical Situation - Katie's Condition and Immediate Next Steps**
Dear Supporters,
We wanted to share an important update regarding Katie's condition. Yesterday, her doctors performed an MRI and discovered a transverse spinal fracture. Due to the severity of this injury, they have determined that Katie needs to be airlifted back to Utah for immediate and specialized care.
The airlift will take place as soon as her spine is surgically stabilized. Unfortunately, the cost of this emergency air transport is causing significant financial stress on her family. We are doing everything we can to ensure Katie receives the care she needs, but the expenses are overwhelming.
This is an incredibly critical time for Katie, and we are asking for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support as we navigate these next steps. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help ease this burden and allow us to focus on Katie’s recovery.
Thank you for standing by Katie and our family during this challenging journey. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to us.
We will keep you updated as we learn more.
With gratitude,
The Laparra Family

Dear family, friends and kind-hearted strangers,
Our dear Katie was recently involved in a serious accident while visiting Guatemala. What was meant to be a beautiful journey has turned into a life-altering event. Katie has sustained significant injuries requiring surgery, hospitalization, and an emergency air transport back to Utah.
We are reaching out to you in this critical time of need. The costs of her treatments, surgery, hospitalization, emergency air transportation, and eventual rehabilitation are overwhelming to her and her husband Marvin, and her family. Being far from home only adds to the emotional and financial strain. Your support will go directly towards ensuring Katie gets the best possible care and can focus on healing without the added burden of financial worry.
Katie is a bright, loving person who has always been there for others. Now, she needs us to rally around her. Whether it’s through a donation or by sharing this campaign, any help you can offer will make a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind and generous support.
