Cathy's medical fund

On March 9th, our friend Cathy lost her dog, her best friend Baxter. Shortlyafter this she began experiencing an uncontrollable pain in her head. She called the doctor and he told her if it happened again she needed to call him. Shortly after on March 12th, Cathy's ex husband passed away and the headaches continued. Cathy's doctor put her on prednisone and they were hopeful that the headaches were caused by stress. However, she had another huge episode and the doctor asked her to come in and have an MRI on March 24th. A few days later, the doctor informed her that there was a mass between her skull and her brain. She was going to get a second opinion but her family doctor advised her not to wait. She met with a neurosurgeon on the 31st of March and he recommended surgery to remove the tumor. By looking at the scans he believed that it was benign and that she would not need to receive  radiation. Her surgery was successfully performed on April 24th.

Cathy had been out of work for several weeks prior to her surgery as the surgeon had concerns regarding her safety at work. She will be off for at least six to twelve weeks. Since she is an independent contractor she doesn't receive FMLA or any kind of short term disability. Her insurance is 80/20 and she will be responsible for a large amount of medical bills.

Cathy has always looked out for other people and done everything that she can for them in their time of need. Kathy has always been so good to all of us and it is time for us to repay her kindness.
