Our dear friend, neighbor & family member, Kathleen Coughlen Parrett has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Not only is this form of cancer extremely aggressive, it is very expensive to treat & manage the pain. According to The National Center for Biotechnology Information, the average direct medical costs for treatment of pancreatic cancer is $65,500.
Our goal is to help assist this family with the ever-increasing financial burden this cancer is placing on them. From chemotherapy, pain medication, doctor's visits & alternate treatment methods... the cost & stress associated with paying these bills is astronomical.**
Kathleen is a Guidance Counselor at Austin ISD & lives in Austin, TX with her husband Brian, a dog, three cats & a chicken. :)
If you know her personally, it would make sense to you that when we mentioned starting this GoFundMe page, she stated that she "just wants to help other people".
