Help my sister, a burn survivor.

     My younger sister Kathleen, a mum of 4 year old boy was involved in a tragic accident which would change her life forever. The house she was living in caught fire and completely burned down. My sister was pulled out of the burning house with 3rd degree burns on over 70% of her body. She lost absolutely everything she owned.

When I got a phone call from my mum a little while ago it was news that chilled me to the core... 


The emergency services acted very fast and put her into an induced sleep (coma) for over 2 weeks, whilst treating her burns.

She was fighting for her life, we thought several times we were going to lose her, but she kept on fighting through infections and other major complications.


     It's been now 2 months and Kathleen is still in hospital. Due to the amazing work from the doctors and plastic surgeons, they were able to save her life and have skin grafted from her legs, the only place which were not burned. Her whole torso and face, neck, hands and back were transplanted with newly grafter skin, however she is now unable to look after herself or her son due to limited movement and many more surgeries that are needed. She is keeping a positive attitude and is greatful to be alive.


My sister lives in Czech, where this accident happened. She is not currently eligible for any help from the government because there were many outstanding bills and debts, as she was struggling with longterm sickness before and unable to work.

With this fundraiser I wanted to help to get back on her feet, so we can help her to get new place, repay debts and buy the basic things needed for life, including clothes.
