Hello, My name is Kiara. My older sister Soncerae and I need help with our mom's Breast Cancer treatment. On May 13, 2021 she was diagnosed with Triple Negative stage 2B Breast Cancer.  She began Chemotherapy a month or so after. She seemed to be doing fine and dealing with the chemotherapy treatments the best way she could. She was still able to walk and walk. As well as feed and dress herself. In November 2021 her health took a turn for the worse. Her last chemotherapy session had a negative effect on her.  A nurse, new to the cancer treatment center, administered her meds different from the standardized chemotherapy regime she was used to receiving.  An upbeat independent woman with a sense of humor and a great personality can no longer stand or walk.  Her mental health is declining and she can barely talk. She is in California with my sister Soncerae.  While the rest of our family and support is on the east coast. 




Soncerae has been her sole caregiver. She administers her medication, including insulin, while also completing blood pressure & glucose tests. She manages her care plans according to her physicians’ instructions. Changes her undergarments, handles her personal grooming and hygiene. Tests for muscle weakness, bedsores, and any signs of infections.  While also caring for my 3-year-old nephew, Justice. My niece, Dominique, 21, works full time and overtime, currently donating her entire paycheck to the welfare of her Grandmother. The responsibility has caused Soncerae to slice her work schedule in half.  Which in turn limits us financially.  Through the holidays Kathie took several trips to the emergency room only to be told that nothing was wrong. After her first visit to the emergency room of 2022, by her doctor's request, our mother has now been admitted to the very hospital that rejected our claims that something was wrong.  She was supposed to start radiation in the next few weeks. She will be unable to do so if she is not stabilized. She is also suffering from Diabetes, IBS & Dementia. She is in constant pain because of nerve damage and muscle spasms. 

For the past 3 weeks, a physical therapist and nurse have visited their home once a week to care for our mother. We have been advised by those individuals and the paramedics who transported our mother to the hospital that our mother now needs round-the-clock home care. In addition to the costs of her cancer treatment, the cost of an assisted living facility is extremely expensive. Not just in the California area. 



At this point, it feels like my world just turned up side down. I never thought I would EVER say that my mom has breast cancer nor would I be creating a gofundme to assist. She is MY HEART and my BEST FRIEND. She is also a loving Mom, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, God Mother, Babysitter and Friend to anyone who can say the same. There has never been a time to where she declined to help someone in need. In need for love, conversation, guidance, advice or a lending hand. I am sincerely asking anyone who can help my mom BEAT THIS CANCER you will forever be in my heart and mind. We have put this fundraiser together to help assist with expenses.
