Karyssa's Funeral Services

On May 23, 2018, heaven gained the most unselfish, caring, beautiful soul god has ever planted on earth. Karyssa Corazon Barajas was a daughter, niece, sister and amazing friend. Since the young age of nine her medical struggle began, but never held her back from fighting forward. Upon her diagnosis of diabetes, her complications emerged and constant hospital visits began.
As the years passed, her complications worsened. Karyssa's sugar levels became difficult to control leading her into diabetic comas and limb removal.Even when Karyssa was hospitalized for months at a time she managed to still be the most precious person. She would push forward and continue planning her goals to be a chef. Due to her constant complications Karyssa was never able to finish a year of school because of her long hospital stays, but every time she came out of the hospital she would continue where she left off. Karyssa's character can be best described as a " Rock Star Princess." She has her princess girly side, but could rock out on a stage if she had the opportunity to. After all, her favorite place was Disneyland, the land of fantasy.
Karyssa came to the point were she began to get tired... she began to realize that she "will never live a normal life" of a 18, 21, or 25 year old. Not only because of her hospital stays, but her long list of limitations. As her illness progressed, her legs became weak with pain, her body became tired and the side effects of the medications started taking their toll. With pain in our hearts we say that she began to loose hope to ever live the life she had set for herself. Her pride and joy was her niece Destiny who would brighten her soul upon her presence, but it began to not be enough. Karyssa had the most amazing support group. Her uncle who raised her into the beautiful person she is; her sister who grew to be her role model, her countless cousins, aunts and best friends whom she met at the age of five and continue to be by her side.
We now all mourn the death of our fearless warrior who left us at age 27. It is difficult not to be angry, but who are we angry with... god? God has his plan for us all and his was to have Karyssa join her mother and grandmother who passed a few years ago. Karyssa's family has been through extreme hardships as they have burried their mother/sister, grandmother/ mother and now Karyssa.
Although your prayers and thoughts are sufficient, her family is in need of additional help with funeral expenses. They have never asked for monetary help, and feel unsure, but if we all come together and donate what we are able to. We can show her family that they are not alone. This is a very unexpected expense that I know we can all assist with and the last thing her family should stress about is financial hardships.

KARYSSA WAS SO LOVED, and she DESERVES the best. Lets keep her spirit alive. When you see a sunflower ( her fav. flower) remember her face. Share memories of her and although she is not here in person, emotionally we can still keep her ALIVE!

THANK YOU ALL from her family and friends!
